POSITION:
Event Assistant
Creating Joy Events Co is now accepting applications for an Event Assistant Position. This is your chance to play a key role in a growing business. Creating Joy (formerly Janel Elise Events) is a wedding and event planning company located in Atlanta, GA specializing in high-style design and detailed planning. This candidate will work closely with clients, the Creating Joy team and associated vendors to execute events to perfection.
LOCATION:
Most Weddings and Events are located in the Atlanta metro area.
The team works remotely but has periodic in-person meetings to make sure we’re set up for success.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend wedding rehearsals to familiarize yourself with the venue, the client and client’s family
Assist the Bride and the Bridal Party with “getting ready” duties prior to the wedding
Oversee wedding day photos
Oversee vendor load-in and set up
Set up the decor items (linens, chargers, candles etc)
Use a creative and discerning eye to edit the final details
Assist with orchestrating all ceremony and reception milestones (processional, recessional, special dances, cake cutting, toasts, grand exit etc.)
Oversee the room flip
Organize and pack personal items at the end of the night
Oversee vendor load-out
Submit a post-event report and offer feedback

EXPERIENCE:
Preference goes to candidates with a minimum of 1 year of wedding or event experience
Preference goes to candidates with a hospitality background or an Event/Wedding Planning Certification or degree
COMPENSATION & HOURS:
Compensation will be $15 – $18 per hour, based on experience with the opportunity to increase
This is a contract position and the right candidate must be available for long/odd hours (usually 8-10 hours) on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
